TEMPE, Ariz. and MCLEAN, Va. - Hilton (NYSE: HLT) today announced that Hilton Garden Inn, the upscale global brand of hotels, and Home2 Suites by Hilton, a fresh extended-stay experience part of Hilton's industry-first All-Suites portfolio, broke ground on a dual-branded property in Tempe, Ariz. The new hotels will not only strengthen Hilton's presence in the market, but also expand the company's dual-brand offering. The groundbreaking marks the 10th property for Hilton Garden Inn in the Phoenix area and signifies the rapid growth of the Home2 Suites brand, which recently celebrated its 100th property opening.
"Lodging demand in Arizona continues to remain strong, with occupancy increasing this year more than 5 percent during 2015*. Last year, Phoenix alone welcomed more than 22 million visitors**," said Matt Wehling, senior vice president, development - U.S. and Canada, Hilton. "This new dual-branded property will provide two comfortable, value-driven lodging options for those visiting the area for business or leisure travel."
Developed and owned by RB-WW Tempe LLC and managed by Widewaters Tempe Hotel Management Company, LLC, the 120-room Hilton Garden Inn and 108-room Home2 Suites are scheduled for completion in late 2017.

Situated within the Discovery Business Campus near Arizona State University, Hilton Garden Inn and Home2 Suites Phoenix/Tempe ASU Research Park is located across the street from the 320-acre ASU Research Park, which hosts headquarters for leading companies, including GoDaddy.com and Shutterfly. The location also offers convenient access to Chandler Fashion Center - a shopping center with more than 200 retail shops.
Hilton Garden Inn Phoenix/Tempe ASU Research Park will offer guests complimentary Wi-Fi, a 24-hour business center and a full service restaurant and bar offering full cooked-to-order breakfast, dinner, cocktails*** and evening room service. The hotel will also feature more than 5,200 square feet of flexible meeting space.
Guestrooms will include the brand's signature bedding, featuring fresh, white duvets and crisp linens; a spacious and clutter-free work desk with an ergonomic desk chair; and an in-room "hospitality center" with a mini fridge, microwave oven and Keurig coffee maker.
Home2 Suites Phoenix/Tempe ASU Research Park will provide guests with All Suites accommodations, including kitchens, modular furniture allowing guests to personalize their room, easy access to technology with complimentary Wi-Fi and inviting community spaces with the trademark Home2 Suites amenities such as the Spin2 Cycle, a combined laundry and fitness area, Home2 MKT for grab-and-go items, and the Inspired Table, a complimentary breakfast that includes more than 400 potential combinations. The hotel, like the majority of the Home2 Suites portfolio, will be pet-friendly.
The hotels will have separate lobbies and share access to an outdoor saline pool, fire pit and barbeque grill area, as well as a state-of-the-art fitness center. Guests will also have access to Terrane Kitchen + Bar, a high volume trendy dining concept offering a fresh and vibrant casual dining experience housed in a separate building on property. Terrane Kitchen + Bar will offer a modern interpretation of the Mediterranean and the Southwest, blending flavors and traditions in a space that expresses the freshness, simplicity and sincerity found in the cuisine of the region. The dining option will have a modern design with honest expression of food and style tailored for a new generation's approach to dining, and will be managed and owned by Widewaters Tempe Hotel Management Company, LLC and RB-WW Tempe LLC, respectively.
